Sheer restaurant at Philipsburg's *Promenade Mall* opened in April 2009. The restaurant is a chic establishment, that wants to cater to an upscale and refined audience. No expense was spared for its grand opening: featuring a lavish cocktail reception that was attended by many prominent island residents, including representatives from Government and St. Maarten's business community.
Val, Sheer's creator, promises to bring a sumptuous, elegant, and upscale experience to Philipsburg's main shopping area. Its cuisine is called a fusion of European and Asian influences, with a touch of Caribbean flair. Sheer's menu attempts to meld the refined taste of European cuisine with the essence of indigenous island flavors. Indeed, the videos and pictures that we have seen look tasty... But so far, we haven't received an invitation yet to visit Sheer and give you a solid first-hand review of a dining experience at this new Philipsburg restaurant.
