If you remember Goodfellas (now "Valentino's":http://www.dinesxm.com/restaurants/valentinos) in the Simpson Bay Yacht Club, you'll remember Luigi and his incredibly tasty brick oven pizzas...
After moving to Carlo's Bella Napoli in Cupecoy for a little while, the island's most famous pizza baker has now finally grabbed the chance to open his very own place at the Pelican Resort. Ciao, the restaurant that he recently opened with his sister Stefania, is situated on the waterfront at the former location of Los Gauchos.
Next to an assortment of delectable thin crust pizza's (yes you can eat with your hands), the menu consists of a nice selection of pastas and traditional Italian dishes. Veal, steak, seafood... All of it looked yummy during our recent visit. But of course everybody at our table opted for pizza. Ab-so-lu-te-ly fantastic, as always! Source: www.dinesxm.com |

Just this past September, Cristophe and Florence Hubler opened a new French restaurant in the heart of Grand Case village. Not without grand ambition, their place is flanked by long-established names such as Le Cottage, and L'Auberge Gourmande on each side. Right across the road, are Le Tastevin and L'Escapade.
The menu at *La Villa* is a creation of Jean Pierre Laponde, formerly at Sunset Cafe. Of course you'll find traditional dishes such as a French Onion Soup, but also many nice surprises: what to think of a "Caribbean Pumpkin Cappuccino." Fish and meat entrees include all-time favorites like Tuna steak with a black pepper crust, and the ubiquitous Rack of Lamb. A prix fixe menu is also available, the chef's specials change dailly. Jean Nguyen's *Jardin de Saigon* is a cozy little Vietnamese restaurant and bar, quietly located in the Concordia residential neighborhood - just outside the center of Marigot. Situated in a little tropical garden within the Residence Les Frangipaniers guesthouse, this off the beaten path eatery seems well worthy of a DineSXM discovery visit in the near future.
Owner / chef Nguyen serves traditional Thai and Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, stir fry meats, curry's, nem, jumbo shrimp tempura, bo kho (Vietnamese beef stew), and flavorful soups. Take away meals are also available. Jardin de Saigon is known to regularly host all-you-can-eat buffets on Saturday nights.
If you're visiting St. Martin from abroad, spending an evening in the restaurant's lush tropical setting and away from the "touristy" hustle and bustle will make you feel like a true guest of our island. While dining among an international group: together with French expats, Caribbean residents, and gallivanting vacationers, you're soon to become part of Le Jardin's extended family.
