Sister urges public to keep Robert Brous search alive

MARIGOT--The brother and sister of missing American Robert Brous are appealing to the public to report any information they might remember to either French or Dutch side authorities which could help in the search of their missing brother. People can also report to the siblings directly.

Robert Brous was staying at La Samanna Hotel when he went missing on January 22, 2010. There has been no sight of him or the midnight blue 318i-series rented 2009 four-door BMW he was driving since then. The license plate number of the car was 751ZBF 971. His passport and other belongings were all left in the hotel and there has been no activity on his credit cards. The reward money offered by the family of $5,000 still stands.

Buzzy and Sherry Brous are currently on the island assisting authorities with the investigation which has so far not turned up any leads. They are also distributing missing person flyers around the island.

“We’re still reaching out for any bits of information that anyone can provide,” said Sherry. “We’re pretty sure he had someone with him when he was last seen at the hotel; not the girlfriend. There was someone in the car with him when he came back to the hotel for the last time. La Samanna guard at the gate has logged in that my brother had a passenger with him in the car at 7:19am on January 22. Someone on the island must have seen that and may know who the passenger was, or have a description. We hope someone is brave enough to step forward.”

Added Buzzy: “Our family has been coming down to the island for years. We love the island and its people. Please have a heart and talk to us in strict confidence.”

Robert Brous was last sighted on Saturday, January 23 filling up a jerry can at Tackling Gas Station in Marigot after the car ran out of gas. Witnesses have also reported seeing him alone in the BMW at Burger King in Cole Bay.

Buzzy Brous can be contacted by calling local number 556-4778 and Sherry Brous on (917) 865-7318.
